Preview of Kendra’s Art

Hello all, it’s Kendra again. Just thought I’d give you a peek at my work that I’ll be showing at FaerieWorlds. I had the opportunity while here in LA to work with Elizabeth Maxwell, a model who appears in many of Joseph’s photographs. She was awesome and I really enjoyed playing with her images. Here’s two examples just to give you an idea:

I’m working on a website that will hopefully be up and running before the new year; we’ll see how busy I get in the fall semester. In the meantime, if you’d like to see more of my work, check out my deviantart account at http://www.kendra-matott.deviantart.com And, of course, come check out the Time of the Faeries booth at FaerieWorlds to see the work I’ve done over my internship. I look forward to seeing you there!

Preparing for FaerieWorlds!

Hello all! It’s Kendra again–Joseph and Donny’s handy intern.

With less than a week left til FaerieWorlds, Donny, Joseph, Maxwell (their friend and model) and I are keeping plenty busy buying supplies, making lists, and printing images that they’ll be selling at the event.  According to Donny, we are more on schedule than usual, but there’s still plenty to do. But we’re all excited to see how the event goes, especially with the change in venue from Secret House to Mount Pisgah.

If you’re attending, be sure to stop by the Time of Faeries booth and say hello!  There are free Time of the Faeries postcards for visitors! This will be the premier of the 2010 calendar as well as some new images. There will also be a little show of my own work. Hope to see you there!

Labyrinth of Jareth Goblin Clockwork Night July 10th, Los Angeles

July 7, 2009 on 1:04 pm | In appearances, conventions, cool stuff, fairies | No Comments

Everyone knows about the enchanting masquerade that is the Labyrinth of Jareth, held annually in Los Angeles.  The faes come from all over the country dressed in their best to impress.

This year, there will also be a Goblin Clockwork Night as part of Labyrinth of Jareth on Friday night.  It’s a steampunk inspired evening of mischief.  If the rumors I hear are true, it will be an amazing evening of entertainment.  Come check it out and come dressed in your best, steampunk or otherwise!  :D

Meet the Intern

July 2, 2009 on 10:37 am | In fantasy photographers, models, photoshoots | No Comments

Hey everyone! I’m Kendra Matott. I’m working with Donny and Joseph this summer as their intern. I am a photographer currently studying art and history at the State University of New York at Potsdam. I’ve always been interested in fantasy and I try to incorporate it into my photography. I’m excited to be in Los Angeles for the first time, and even more excited to get to help out with the Time of the Faeries this summer. I’ll be working with TOTF until FaerieWorlds, so maybe I’ll see you there!

My internship began last week at the Modelfest 2009 event in Cloudcroft, New Mexico. It was a great week of never-ending shooting-madness. Joseph and the other photographers who attended got to shoot at some beautiful locations, including White Sands and a waterfall that was quite a hike to get to. The rest of the week was spent doing even more photo shoots, including the Seven Deadly Sins which were a lot of fun. At the end of the week, Joseph went away with 15.5 gigs of photos to sort through. We had a wonderful time and ended up with some great shots. Look for an article about it in Fae Magazine and check out the Modelfest Myspace page at Myspace.com/modelfest_nm.
