Get Ready for LOSCON!
September 22, 2008 on 5:28 pm | In appearances, conventions | No CommentsAre you in the Los Angeles area? Even if you are not, you must come to the BEST small sci/fi/fantasy convention on the West Coast.
Joseph and I have been going to LOSCON for the last four years and we’ve had an amazing time EVERY time! The conversations are unbeatable. The panels are exciting. We still talk about how the cloning panelists nearly came to fisticuffs that one year. The con suite is STOCKED. But nothing beats the room parties after hours. The wine and cheese party. The chili party. The desert party. The wine tasting party. And so on!
So, come join us at LOSCON at the Los Angeles Marriott this Thanksgiving weekend!
Also, Joseph Corsentino will be showing new art in the artshow, but really, our main reason for going to LOSCON is to geek out.
Focus on Modern Faeries
September 22, 2008 on 12:57 am | In fairies, modern fairies | No CommentsModern faeries live among us here and now in the Time of the Faeries universe. After struggling for decades in the alleys and sewers of cities, the faeries finally learn how to live with humans and effect changes. They regain their power, their confidence, and find their place in the modern world. Their wings blossom fully again, with glints of mischief in their eyes. Beware though, these faeries are as dangerous as ever, perhaps more so. Their mission in life is make you question yours.
This is Rya, one of the first faeries to evolve into the modern faerie. Her history is long and tragic, but now, she is one of the most powerful and influential of the faeries. Watch her, she is the catalyst that makes things happen.
Another Modern Fairy Photoshoot Done!
September 21, 2008 on 10:38 pm | In fairies, models, photoshoots | No CommentsWe spent an amazing day with Danielle, a beautiful modern day fairy we met at Faerieworlds Festival 2008. She was so naturally a modern faerie, that we couldn’t help but pull together such a costume for her. We then took her around town and just let her go buck wild! We can’t wait to see the final images from this photoshoot. Danielle, you rock!

Classical Fairies, Feral and Fun
September 16, 2008 on 12:31 am | In classical fairy, fairies, new images | No CommentsHere is another Cloudcroft fairy image! These fairies are dangerous and don’t like to be disturbed. You saw the behind the scenes images, now you get to enjoy the final product! Look closely at one of the fairies. She’s almost a mermaid…
More Urban Fairies!
September 14, 2008 on 12:22 am | In Faerie Con, fairies, new images | No CommentsEver since Joseph returned from Dragon-con, he’s been on a roll with new images on a daily basis! Here’s a couple more for your enjoyment! To see these images in person, come visit us at Faeriecon! Want free tickets to faeriecon? Keep an eye on the TOTF blog.
This is one of Joseph’s first hybrid angel/fairy. See the new wings? It was amazing watching Joseph create those wings. All the elements are photographic and carefully manipulated. And not to give away Joseph Corsentino’s magick tricks, but the textures and patterns on the shirt and pants are all created. The model is Elizabeth, a talented model and friend whom we have worked with for years now.
I love this photoshoot. The model is my friend, Etana, and this was her first photoshoot EVER. She did a great job and looked fantastic. Here, you can see our fairies casting spells, one of the first time we see this visually.

Focus on “Street Fairies”
September 7, 2008 on 1:04 pm | In fairies, street fairies | No CommentsWhat are street fairies?
As with all art, each piece means different things to different people. This piece, with two sisters holding onto each other, draws fans for many reasons.
Within the Time of the Faeries universe, street fairies are a specific classification of fairies. Upon their return to the modern, urban, human world of 1980s, the fairies discovered a world vastly different from the one they left, a world turned cold and unkind toward the old magick, the ideas of chaos and change. They struggle to regain their power, their identities despite harsh “reality”. Their wings wilted and all but disappeared.
To survive, many scrounge in the streets, begging for a last scrap of magick so that they can live another day. Some grind their own wings into magick dust, only to snort it up again, just to be able to feel. Some…do worse…to survive.
In time, many street fairies find their own paths and their power, but until then…
