Heading off to Comic-con!
July 25, 2007 on 7:36 am | In Comic-con, conventions | 1 CommentIt is 7:30a.m. on Wednesday morning. I just woke up and showered. Our apartment is filled to the brim with STUFF as we prepare for Comic-con!
Joseph is already down in San Diego with piles of books and prints for sale. David Windham is playing Transformers the Game in my living room while Tracy Cornett is just waking up. We will be driving down in a couple of hours and I can’t describe how excited I am to be a part of all this. Things are shaping up to be a wonderful weekend!
Wish us luck!
If you are heading there, find us at the booth next to Brian Froud’s. We’re at booth 4822 I believe. Come say hello!
Wrapping Up Faerieworlds Festival
July 22, 2007 on 10:37 pm | In Comic-con, conventions, faerieworlds | No CommentsI feel sad. As I type Joseph, Tracy Cornett, and David Windham are packing up their booths at Faerieworlds Festival. The last announcements are being made by Robert Gould and Brian Froud. The fairies are wandering off into the forest for another year.
It sounded like everyone had a good time, and I wish I was there.
Tracy and Joseph will get on a plane tomorrow bright and early and be back in Los Angeles in time to prepare for Comic-con. There is much to do to prepare still. But, starting tomorrow, I will be able to help them and take part in the festivities. Onward to Comic-con!
Performance at Faerieworlds Festival
July 22, 2007 on 9:54 am | In conventions, faerieworlds | No CommentsHere’s a photo of a performance from Faerieworlds Festival from last night. Today is the last day for the festivities! If you are in the area, come visit Time of the Faeries, David Windham, and Tracy Cornett as well as the Frouds and all the amazing performances. The reports are that Saturday was simply amazing.
Those of us who couldn’t go can live vicariously through photos like these. Let’s plan to be there next year!

Selling Time of the Faeries Book like Hot Cakes!
July 21, 2007 on 3:36 pm | In conventions, faerieworlds, on sale, the book | No CommentsThe books are flying off the shelf, reported Joseph, which makes me very happy indeed! Keep sending us good vibes fairy believers! Things are looking good!
If you haven’t purchased your own copy of Time of the Faeries, the Book, then your best bet is to find us at the Faerieworlds Festival or at Comic-con. We are sold out at the online store until August 7th, when we pick up another batch from Imaginosis Publishing. In the mean time, you can still place an order through the online store. You’ll just have to wait a bit to receive your copy. Please accept our sincere apologies!
The Time of the Faeries Booth at Faerieworlds
July 21, 2007 on 12:50 pm | In conventions, faerieworlds, fantasy photographers | No CommentsHere are some pictures of the Time of the Faeries booth at Faerieworlds Festival. Look at the transformation! Not so shabby considering we loaded two boxes onto the plane with Joseph on Thursday and purchased a canopy at Target in Eugene. It’s called making it work, baby! And that’s what we do.
The tents next to ours belong to good friends and fantasy photographers Tracy Cornett and David Windham. You’ll hear a lot about these two in the next two weeks because we’re going to follow each other from one convention to the next.
These pictures are taken with a camera phone by Joseph Corsentino. Then, it’s text to Donny (that’s me, in Los Agneles), then, I upload the photos from my phone to my computer, which is a hassle, and finally posted. Let’s appreciate technology, folks, and marvel at how very NOT magical it is! Bring out the frogs and the fairy dust!
Faerieworlds Festival Begins!
July 21, 2007 on 12:18 pm | In conventions, faerieworlds | No CommentsI dropped Joseph off at the airport on Thursday so that he can set up for Faerieworlds Festival. It begins! A weekend of magic, fantasy, fun, fairies, and, of course, Brian Froud. Last year, Joseph met Amy Brown and they hung out for awhile. I am still jealous to this day. Joseph got to see fire dancers, listen to amazing artists, and just enjoy the company of like-minded, magical people. This year is already shaping up to be even more exciting!
Before the Festival even begins at noon, Joseph already sold some of his 13×19 prints. I’m wondering if we brought enough prints and books?! Since Joseph took a flight up to Eugene, Oregon, we severely limited the number of items we brought for sale. I predict that next year, Joseph will drive up so that we can bring everything and anything for Faerieworlds.
Fairies, Faeries, and other Fantasy Art
July 10, 2007 on 10:12 pm | In newsletter, website | No CommentsFairies, faeries, and other fantasy art stuff. Regular readers will notice that we have added a Google Adsense thingy on the left of our blog. We’re trying to figure things out, add functionality for our readers and also pay for the maintenance of this website and blog. Thus, I’m repeating the spelling of fairies in various format to clue Google into the fact that this blog is a fantasy art centered blog and therefore Google should display related advertisements.
Is it working?Changing the subject a little, I am finally writing the July Time of the Faeries (also spelled Fairies ehehehe) newsletter. The newsletter will go out late, as usual, though I cleverly never make any promise about when the newsletter is scheduled to go out. Also, I blame any mishaps on the mischievous modern fairies. Joseph aka J. Corsentino, tears his hair out whenever I start working on the newsletter, because we disagree on what news we put in the newsletter. I say, if Mr. Joseph Corsentino wants full control of his newsletter, then he should write it! BWAHAHAHA

Classical Fairy Photoshoot Done!
July 8, 2007 on 8:11 pm | In classical fairy, photoshoots | No CommentsIt went very well. We visited two parks to get the fairy shots we needed. A great time was had by all and we ended the day at the delicious and healthy Souplantation. Let’s do it again soon!
Joseph will be hardcore working on the images tonight, creating a beautiful and enchanting fairy, and perhaps he will consent to release one image to the public. Generally, he guards his Generation II fairy images jealously.
Here’s a behind the scene picture of Joseph Corsentino checking on one of his shots of the model, Sarah Pletcher.
