Getting Ready for LOSCON! Thanksgiving Weekend.

November 21, 2009 on 10:15 am | In appearances, conventions | No Comments

LOSCON is our favorite convention of the year.  An extraordinary, intellectual, intimate, literary sci-fi/fantasy convention where you get to hang out with people like Harry Turtledove, Ray Bradbury, and the writers of Battlestar Galactica.

This is the convention we live for every year 0_0 Or to be precise, it’s the room parties we live for every year!  Who can miss out on the wine & cheese room?  Or the desert room?  Or the try rare vodka room?  The best room?  By invitation only: party to 6 a.m. room.

This year, as always, we will hang up our art in the artshow and walk away to enjoy LOSCON.  Every one is welcome to join us in this extraordinary experience!

Visit the LOSCON website for more details.

Beyond Fantasy Magazine – Artist/Craft Submission

October 13, 2009 on 9:29 pm | In appearances | No Comments

bfmbann

Hi guys,

I would like to introduce myself. I am the new Creative Director of Beyond Fantasy Magazine. I look forward to working with all of you!

My job is to design and produce or supervise functioning crafts, recipes, costuming and items for seasonal materials related to each issue.

If you have an article idea relating to the above, email a query to me at Donny (at) timeofthefaeries (dot) com with links to your website or photobucket or similar. Links to images are crucial as I will not open any unexpected attachments, nor should you.

Please put this in the Subject line: BFM – Artist (or Craft) Submission (or Query) – Your Name The “BFM” in the subject is important as I use email filter and you may end up lost in my general mailbox if you don’t use “BFM”.

Artists & Photographers: Please send your artwork in a JPG format 800 pixels along largest edge * 72 dpi for review. You will be sent a link to an FTP site to upload the original full size picture, if your artwork is accepted.

What are we looking for? Emerging and established artist and crafter. Anything that catches our eyes. Something funky and new, old and best loved. Anything that is Beyond Fantasy. Yes, we will take those zombies. And cyber punk. And steam punk. And art deco. Fashion? Yes. DIY? Yes. Cars? Absolutely, especially if it’s draped in custom paint work and/or bronze. You get the idea. If your art comes with an article, even BETTER! At this time, payment is in terms of advertisement, so get your banner and or ad copy ready to go as well. SEASONAL: Yes, we do look for seasonal articles. Please submit a query in a timely manner, two issues ahead of time preferably. Submit to: donny (at) timeofthefaeries (dot) com I look forward to seeing your art!

The long awaited second Time of the Faeries book is now in production! Joseph has been working hard finishing up Gen III images and writing the story.

“TOTF: The Afterlight” will be a full-fledged story that goes in-depth into the characters of Time of the Faeries, with beautiful art to accompany it. The first book gave us the background into the TOTF universe. Now, in “The Afterlight”, we get to explore the present day conflicts between faeries, angels, and vampires, with Man’s soul and potential caught in between.

If you loved Time of the Faeries before, you’ll love it even more.

Keep an eye out in the coming months for art and snippets from
“The Afterlight”. We are developing a website devoted solely to “The Afterlight” and will be bringing it slowly online in the coming months.

Till then, read more and see the latest art at our Facebook fan page.
