Spectrum Fantastic Art Live! is a natural extension of the eighteen-year success of the award-winning Spectrum art annual. It is focused on JUST ART, and lots of it! There will be art, artist, panels, more art, presentations, workshops, and more art.

Attending artists include: Brom, Boris Vallejo & Julie Bell, Jasmine Beckett-Griffith, Todd Lockwood, Donato, and lots more! Including, of course, Time of the Faeries’ Joseph Corsentino.

Yes. We have a limited number of rooms blocked at the Aladdin and the Crowne Plaza hotels at a special convention rate. Both are within a short block of the convention center and both have been recently renovated with all the standard modern conveniences. Mention that you’re a member of Spectrum Fantastic Art Live! to get the convention rate when making your reservation:

There are other hotels nearby, HOWEVER there is a national quilting convention in Kansas City that same weekend (they’re a one-time convention for the area and won’t be an issue in 2013) and they’re filling up the majority of the rooms in the other hotels. However, there may be rooms available at the President Hotel (no convention rate) and certainly within a 5 minute cab or bus ride at the Sheraton and the Westin Crown Center hotels. If out of town attendance warrants it, we will investigate the feasibility hiring shuttles to run between the convention center and Crown Center. If SFALive! is successful and we’re able to repeat the event in 2013, many more hotel rooms adjacent to the convention center will be readily available.

Time of the Faeries is very excited to be a part of the phenomenon that is San Diego Comic-con! This year, we will be in the Small Press area with a table, showcasing our art prints, books, and more! Keep an eye on this space, we may have a very sweet surprise for Comic-Con!

WHAT:

Comic-con is a ridiculous convention, unseen anywhere else on the planet. It expects 130,000-140,000 attendees and sells out every year. It takes an hour to walk from one end of the hall to the other during the height of the convention.

That said, SDCC is jam packed with goodies, every inch of the way. From classic comic books to unreleased blockbuster movies, there is something for everyone. For the eager fans, there are enough free t-shirts, many exclusive Comic-Con specials, to keep you in shirts for the entire year.

Our Faeries are currently sharpening their nails in preparation for this utter geek madness. We will be there in full force, with magic backing us up, and having a mighty fine time. Hope to see you there this year!
